The CBSE will set a precedent. The board will declare result of Class X and the school-based Continuous and Comprehensive evaluation (CCE) ahead of Class Xll.
This year will mark the first CCE board results for over seven lakh students, who opted for the school-based test rather than the board exam. CBSE has completed evaluation and assessment of Class X candidates from both CCE and Board. The tabulation process is on. Class X results 2014 is expected to be declared on Last week of May2014.
Board official said, Class 10th results 2014 will be declared ahead of Class Xll because of the drastic fall in number of students appearing for board exam. It has come down by 65 percent this year.
“The results of nearly 6 lakh students are based on school-based evaluation. So, we are left with evaluating about 4.6 lakh students at the board level. We collected data forwarded by schools and locked for discrepancies. Now, we are nearly ready with the results. We would be declaring the class 10 results 2014 in the middle of May 2014,” saida senior board official in the exani branch.
There will be no difference in the final certificate to be issued by CBSE in May 2014. CBSE is planning to introduce a descriptive scorecard to be issued by schools for those who opt for CCE. But all the certificates will be issued by the board itself.
